Let me introduce you to PBSKids!

 Hello Parents,

I know you are each trying to soak up the last little bit of summertime with your sweet children.  I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to various resources available to you and your students throughout their educational journey.  These resources will come in extremely handy to be utilized as additional practice on the skills we will learn throughout this school year.

The first tool I would like to bring to your attention is PBSKids.  What I love most about the GAMES section of PBSKids is that our students do not always realize they are practicing educational skills.  The games are fun and children tend to think of them as more a time-killer than educational practice.  It is a great way to sneak in practice, especially for those students that want to leave "school" at school.

Welcome Back, Sesame Street!

  Hello, Parents, If you grew up around the same time as I did, it's likely you watched the classic Sesame Street on an almost daily basis.  There was just something about that big, yellow bird and that silly, red...well, Elmo.  The Sesame Street website is another online resource that your students AND YOU will enjoy.  This site offers both education based videos and games, as well as fun resources I call "time fillers'.  My own children at home tend to utilize time fillers for about 30 minutes while they are winding down before bed.  I think your students will especially enjoy the Sesame Street site because we will be reading many Sesame Street books in our classroom.
